The sheet graph marks the flight with double bars. In the forest view, the curved flight path fades over the chosen duration; accumulation mode keeps it visible while the hawk feature remains enabled.

The viewer is centered on the point cloud, with the default camera framed higher and farther back so the forest occupies the upper portion of the layout above the sheet graph. In embedded use, the interface is intentionally segmented into distinct sections for the 3D forest view, call sheet, spectrogram, and timeline. The call/reference point defaults to the plot center. Use the east/west and north/south sliders to reposition it. Call positions use the stereo-derived relative coordinates, with adjustable horizontal spread and display-height scaling. Extreme values are softly compressed with exponential decay so they stay inside the vegetation map. Each call marker is governed by its annotated begin/end time and is removed completely after its selected fade interval. Playback uses the mono shotgun recording, loops over the first 600 s by default, and all annotated calls are forced to render even when spatial proxies are missing. Sequential call links connect by the next call start time, and an optional accumulation mode can build a persistent network view. The sheet graph defaults to a species-grouped orchestral layout, with an optional toggle for globally even row spacing.

3D markersSpatial markers use relative left/right + relative distance fields from the CSV, then drape heights above the embedded estimated ground surface. Species-level height overrides can replace the defaults.
UncertaintyPositions are approximate. Use direction and range confidence on hover to evaluate reliability.
SpectrogramShotgun mono recording; scrolls with playback and displays boxed annotated calls. A synchronized call-sheet graph can also be shown above it.
Species overrides
Override displayed height and species color. Leave a height input blank to keep the default value already derived for that species.

AveDojo™ forest communication visualizer V36

This is a standalone WebGL viewer containing all measured returns from the consolidated Point 1 LAS. The resolution control changes how many original returns are drawn; it never invents point measurements.

Voxel resolution

At each level, the viewer keeps one original return per three-dimensional voxel. Refined levels add returns while preserving the coarser representatives. “Full raw cloud” draws every embedded LAS record.

Interpolation

The interpolation option uses enlarged Gaussian point splats that overlap in screen space. It improves visual continuity but is not a surface reconstruction and does not alter the underlying data.

Ground estimate

The source LAS has no ground classification. The displayed terrain is a preliminary low-envelope estimate derived from 10 m cell minima, robust neighborhood filtering, and smoothing. Treat height-above-ground values as exploratory until a formal ground-classification workflow is run.

Controls

  • Left drag: orbit.
  • Right drag or Shift-left drag: pan.
  • Mouse wheel or two-finger pinch: zoom.
  • Double-click: reset the camera.
  • Save PNG exports the current canvas view.
